The Basel based artist duo Admir Jahic & Comenius Roethlisberger are well known for their mercuriality and change of media used in their artprojects and artworks.
This procedure renders them quite unforeseeable and challenges the viewer each time anew. All their projects are tongue-in-cheeck and full of subtle questions. This very buzz makes the artists distinctive and attracts us again and again to enter the visions expressed in their works.
The group of works “PARADISE NOW?” is fully committed to the idea of the “experiment”.
The theory of probability describes a random experiment approximately as a test set-up with “random” results. It allows a series of performances, thus equivalent and independent attempts. Attempts in this case are procedures with non-predictable, ascertainable results. Although the result of each attempt is accidental, if repeated enough times, certain repetitive laws can be recognized.
Each of the artworks is executed in color pigments dissoluted in resin on Fabriano paper, framed under glass.
